Our Learning Journey

This morning, we went to Old Ford Factory and Bukit Chandu for our SS learning journey. Our Social Studies teacher, Mdm Wong, went with us on this learning journey. We left the school for old Ford Factory at about 8.15a.m.
When we reached Old Ford Factory,it was about 9.00a.m. The building was surprisingly new, but I suspect that it was rebuilt.A guide who was a lady welcomed us to Old Ford Factory.First, we went to an AV theatre to watch a video about how Japanese tortured Singaporeans and more.It was kind of scary and some of my classmate said things like 'eeeeewwwww'! Next, we got out of the theatre and went for a short bathroom break. Then, we went into a gallery where we saw two statues of Lieutanant-General Arthur Ernest Percival and Lieutenant-General Tomoyuki Yamashita.I am still not sure wheather I spelled their names correctly, well its worth a try! We also saw equipments and weaponary people who defended Singapore used during the war. After that, we went to a garden behind Old Ford Factory to see plants that are difficult to grow in Singapore. They were useful for curing Diseases too!I liked looking around the garden the best as I could see plants I never saw before.I did not like the video because it was scary. We left Old Ford Factory at about 10.30a.m that morning.
We reached Bukit Chandu at 11.00a.m.The guide was a man who welcomed us to Bukit Chandu. We went to learn more about Singapore's history at room where it looked like a gallery, but it was way smaller. Then, we went to watch a short video about how Japanese went around Singapore, slowly taking over it. We then went up the stairs to a place where there was an animation for us to watch. It was done by Nanyang Polytechnic. It was about how Lieutenant Adnan sacrificed his life for his home.We then went to a room with equipments and weaponary. We learnt more about them.I liked the first activity the best as we could learn how Japanese came to Singapore. The least favourite is the time when we went to the room with equipments and weaponary.I learnt from this trip that we should take wars seriously and should never underestimate other people like what happened when the British underestimated the Japanese.
N.E. Message:We have confidence in our future
